MID CENTURY MODERN BALL CHAIR
Eero Aarnio designed the ball chair in 1963. The ball chair entered the pop art hall of fame 25 years later and continues to grow in popularity to this day. MAKING THE EERO AARNIO BALL CHAIR ICON
Finnish furniture designer Eero Aarnio created the original Ball Chair in 1963. Considered a classic of industrial design it is also referred to as The Globe Chair. Many color combos are now available, however the original Ball Chair was created with one color option, a white outer shell and red cloth interior. The original Ball Chair features a 5 panel interior liner. The original shell was made of fiberglass with a consistent glossy finish. Sitting on a wide circular base, the Ball Chair turns a full 360 degrees on its axis.

Twill is an interwoven knit fabric. The thread takes turns in an over and under weave forming a crooked yet overall lineal rectangle pattern that can be discerned at close range. The pattern exists but appears somewhat random when viewed from a normal distance. Microfiber Twill features a finer, tightly tailored flat weave appearance.
Microfiber Twill provides perhaps a more refined, tailored appearance than that of a typical coarse twill. It relies on the multi-tone nature of the fabric strands themselves to provide the appearance of depth of texture.
